Roads Added 4-28-2008:
67 North out of Woodland Park, CO
This road will roll up and down as you travel some of the scenic back country of CO for 48 miles. The road is smooth, but in the fall and spring can have sand still on in from the winter months. This road works well because you can get to it from Denver at 85 and Sedalia, CO. Note that there is a 4-7 mile section that is dirt, but the road is wide, and the dirt is smooth. Once you get down to the river you can go right or left. Right will just take you to more dirt, the real fun is to the left on 67 which will take you to Deckers, CO and then south to Woodland Park, CO. There is gas in Sedalia, and in Woodland Park.
50 West out of Canon City, CO
As you are heading west out of Canon City, CO and pass 9 that goes north; 50 will then become a real blast to ride. I have seen cops around Canon City so be careful, however on the section by the Royal Gorge I have yet to see them. This is a wide main road and that is smooth and fun to ride up and down. Going east on 50 I believe it is 2 lanes in a lot of parts to you can get around any traffic and have a lot of fun showing people your sparks. Don't forget to do the Royal Gorge loop, remember you can ride across the bridge with your ticket, which is not well advertised.
9 South from US24 to US50 to (Canon City, CO)
This is a relaxing ride, with ups and downs and nice easy sweepers. Not much traffic takes this route as it goes from nowhere to nowhere. Just relax and enjoy the ride.
115 South out of Colorado Springs, CO
One of the few main roads out of Colorado Springs, CO that connects the city to some great riding. This is not a bad road to just cruise on, there are nice ups and downs and some pretty good sweepers. Cops are out on this road, and they do hide off in the brush/trees so watch out. One recommended stop is the Gooseberry Patch resturant down near US50. While heading south it will be on your lefthand side, a little red building with a dirt parking lot. Try the Sloppy Pocket, it is pretty good and everyone seems to love it that has tried it.
165 to Bishop's Castle & I25 (South of Canon City)
You get to do two fun things on this road. First is the road itself, as it will wind and twist all the way up through the switch backs to a roadside attraction called "Bishop's Castle". The Castle is free to see, all Mr. Bishop ask is for donations. I highly recommend you to advoid talking to Mr. Bishop as his views on the world are strange and you don't want to get shot. The road is above 9,000 feet, so they can still have snow, thus sand & ice still on the roads, and the temperature can be quit a bit cooler. But once you reach Bishop's Castle which is at the top you can make your way back down to I25 at Colorado City, CO which warms up a lot faster as you make your way back down to the plains. 165 from 96 to I25 is a 36 Mile joy.

Phantom Canyon Rd, South of Victor, North of Canon City (DIRT)
The road is 27 Miles long fron Canon City, CO to Victor, CO. Coming from the south it is a rough pavement, that turns to graded dirt. Then it gets a bit rougher, but is a very scenic way to go to Cripple Creek / Victor, CO. The road is narrow so you better be on the lookout of other vehicles coming your way. There is 2 restrooms along this road, that were pretty clean and a good place to take a break as there are benches to sit on. You will also cross countless bridges, and go through countless rock tunnels. On my FZ1 this was doable, but I never got above 35mph, and I was mostly around 10-15mph on some sections. This road is worth the look for us diehard backroad explorers, but I do recommend you doing it on a dualsport.
US 24 West of Springs before Woodland Park, CO
This short 5 mile section of US24 is a blast. The map does not do this road justice. It is a two lanes each way (down and Up) road and with the road being smooth you can feel the road rub your shoes thin as you tackle this section. At times the traffic can be heavy, but if done in the right time of day, or during the week you can have a lot of fun in 5 miles. Also check out Cave of the Winds, and the Cliff Dwellings along this section. For the most advanced rider go check out Pikes Peak, I believe it is $10 a person, and is 19 miles long.
Garden of the Gods Loop (Located West side of I25 in Colorado Springs)
This 5 mile loop takes you through some red rocks that looked like they crashed from outer space. This is a one way road around most of it. Watch out for deer, and the tourist that slam on thier brakes to take a picture. Don't forget to check out the "Balance Rock". This place can be a mad house during the spring and summer months, less people in late fall, and early spring. The park closes at 11:30PM (although no gates), and the ticket is $50 if you are caught in after hours.

Rampart Range Road Southern Section to GofG from Mt. Herman Rd (DIRT)
To find this go to Garden of the Gods and next to the Balance Rock you will see a dirt road that goes West. Take this and it will twist and turn and you will end up past a Gun Range (you will know from all the liter up there). Traffic might be heavy to the gun range but gets light after that. I highly recommend a dualsport for this road. You will also come to some very old overlooks, that look out towards Pikes Peak, you can get some great shots up there of Pikes Peak. This road will go to Woodland Park, and all the way to Denver. GofG to Mt. Herman Rd along Rampart Range is about 26 miles.
Mt. Herman Rd West of Monument, CO (DIRT)
This 13 mile dirt section is pretty rough d epending on the time of the year. Highly recommended for dualsport motorcycles. Exit I25 at exit 161. Head west on 2nd Street till it ends just past railroad tracks. Turn Left on Mitchell, head south on Mitchell for 1 mile, you will see Mt. Herman road on your right. Take that till it turns to dirt, then on up. This ia narrow, that will take you through trees up to Rampart Range Rd. There is also a cut your own Christmass tree area up there too.
